We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance our Platform/Infrastructure capabilities. This role is crucial for maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure that supports our clinical research products. The ideal candidate will have robust experience in DevOps, with a strong emphasis on security and IT systems management. This position offers the opportunity to significantly impact our technical operations and ensure our systems meet the highest standards of security and efficiency.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS, ensuring high availability and robustness of our clinical research platform.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment and operations.
  • Take on comprehensive responsibility for all organizational IT and security protocols, aligning with key security and privacy standards such as SOC2, NIST CSF, PIPEDA, HIPAA, etc.
  • Advocate for and implement security best practices, managing internal and third-party audits, compliance checks, and incident response coordination.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to integrate infrastructure and software development practices seamlessly.
  • Manage infrastructure costs, resource allocation, and strategic IT support including network, asset management, and help desk operations.
  • Transition between technical tasks with ease, providing hands-on solutions and support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, with strong experience in IT and security management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cloud-based infrastructure, especially with AWS.
  • Proficient in creating and managing CI/CD pipelines and security architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and certifications pertinent to healthcare data, such as HIPAA, PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, adaptable to evolving project scopes and timelines.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interfacing with various departments.

Nice To Have:

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or AWS Security Specialty.
  • Experience with compliance automation platforms, such as Drata.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards and protocols such as HL7 FHIR, OMOP, or i2b2.
  • Skills in scripting languages like Python or Bash for task automation.
  • Prior experience with asset management tools and practices.
