Senior Machine Learning Engineer

What You’ll Do

Medeloop seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with a deep theoretical foundation in machine learning and artificial intelligence to lead the development of next-generation AI solutions in healthcare. As a thought leader on the team, you will work closely with our CTO to drive innovation and establish Medeloop as a pioneer in AI-driven medical research.

The ideal candidate combines years of hands-on industry experience with a strong academic foundation (preferably a PhD in AI, Machine Learning, or a related field) and a track record of leading impactful AI initiatives. You will design and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning models and data pipelines, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to influence Medeloop’s technological direction.

Key Responsibilities:

• AI Leadership & Innovation: Drive the development of cutting-edge machine learning models and frameworks to address complex challenges in healthcare data.
• Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the CTO and other senior leaders to shape Medeloop’s AI strategy and establish a thought leadership position in the industry.
• End-to-End Model Development: Architect, train, and deploy machine learning models for large-scale, high-impact healthcare datasets.
• Customer-Centric Development: Engage with researchers and healthcare professionals to understand their challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
• Tech Evangelism: Stay at the forefront of machine learning advancements, contributing to the company’s position as a leader in AI for healthcare.
• Scalable Systems: Design robust and scalable systems for healthcare data processing and analysis, ensuring regulatory compliance (SOC2, HIPAA).

• Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.

Who You Are:

• Educational Background:
  • PhD strongly preferred in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • A robust understanding of theoretical machine learning, mathematical modeling, and statistical methods.
• Research & Industry Expertise:
  • 5+ years of experience in machine learning, with a proven ability to bridge theoretical insights and industry applications.
  • Strong publication record in leading AI or machine learning conferences/journals is highly desirable.
  • Experience in healthcare, biotech, or regulated industries is a plus but not mandatory.
• Technical Mastery:
  • Expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and foundational mathematical tools (e.g., NumPy, SciPy).
  • Strong grounding in areas such as reinforcement learning, probabilistic models, and optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with large-scale data systems.
